New Item, Open Box. Functionality not checked.

  • Compatible with all German Equatorial (EQ) AstroMaster and PowerSeeker telescopes

Key Functions

  • Hands-Free Tracking: Once you center an object (like Saturn or a lunar crater) in your eyepiece, the motor continuously turns the telescope mount at the exact speed of Earth’s rotation. The object stays locked in the center of your lens without you having to constantly nudge the manual slow-motion cables.

  • Basic Astrophotography: By keeping the target completely stationary in the eyepiece, it allows you to take short-exposure photographs of the moon and planets without them blurring into streaks.

  • Hemisphere Compatibility: It includes an N/S switch (Northern/Southern hemisphere) to reverse the motor's direction depending on which side of the equator you are observing from.

What it Fits

This specific motor is built exclusively for entry-level Equatorial (EQ) mounts from Celestron. It attaches directly to the Right Ascension (R.A.) axis on:

  • Celestron AstroMaster series telescopes (e.g., AstroMaster 130EQ, 70EQ, 90EQ)

  • Celestron PowerSeeker series telescopes (e.g., PowerSeeker 127EQ, 80EQ)

Important Setup Note: For this motor to track properly, your telescope mount must first be polar aligned (pointed at Polaris, the North Star, if you're in the Northern Hemisphere). If the tripod isn't aligned with Earth's axis, the motor will still drive the scope, but the target will slowly drift out of view anyway. It runs on a single 9-volt battery.
